GEORGE TOWN: A Penang Gerakan Youth leader is urging all Penangites to send him questions regarding the undersea tunnel project so that he can raise them during his proposed debate with state exco member Lim Hock Seng on Saturday.
Acting Youth Chief Jason Loo Jie Sheng said those with doubts over the project could send their questions to his Facebook page (https://goo.gl/gf0Gwj).
He said non-government organisations, the media and public could ask anything on the undersea tunnel and the three paired roads.
“I am not against the project, be it the undersea tunnel or third bridge. My only concern is how the state government pushes and carries out the project,” he said after coming out from the office of Dewan Sri Pinang.
Loo said he would send an invitation to Lim at his office in Komtar.
“This is a mega project and we should have a public debate to know the project inside out, instead of just seeing Lim at his office in order to get the necessary information”.
“They are the self-proclaimed CAT (Competency, Accountability and Trans-parency) government, so why should there be closed-door meeting? I hope Lim will turn up,” Loo said.
Earlier, Loo failed to secure a venue either at Dewan Sri Pinang or Penang Chinese Town hall for his scheduled debate with Lim as a booking would require a 30-day notice in advance, unless it is a state government official function.
